Castel del Monte is situated on a low hill and it is a unique and mysterious monument according to many scholars and historians. Listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site, it is doubtless one of the most admired and mysterious sights in Italy.
Alberobello is famous for its conical Trulli, which are whitewashed buildings with conical roofs made of limestone slabs stacked together without cement mortar. There are entire neighbourhoods, like “Aia Piccola”, made of Trulli and listed by UNESCO as World Heritage Sites.
